I have worked on many of the TD4545 models. I believe the control board and burner controls are the same as the TD3030. I am trying but cannot think of a control board parameter could be causing this. I assume you have other stacks at your laundry that are working fine.
I suggest swapping boards between two stacks and see if the trouble moves with the control board. FYI - I believe it is much easier to swap entire control panels between dryer. In any case if the problem is being cause by a parameter or faulty control board the problem will move with the control board. Does this issue happen with a load of clothes or when running empty as well? There are two temperature probes in each pocket.
One monitors the exhaust temperature. The other is monitoring air temperature coming from the burner leading to the tumbler. I am thinking lack of air flow or some other reason is causing the burner air temperature to spike up and shut down the burner. I am thinking the one monitoring axial temperature is taking control and shutting down the burner other then when the exhaust temperature reaches 160F. For testing purposes there are ways to prevent this thermostat from taking control. One could remove the two screws from this temperature probe and hold it outside of the air flow thus having it read room temperature. Be advised it would be very unwise to operate this way other than a test as burning of clothes would likely be the result.
I don't think a faulty burner or control is causing this issue. The Electrolux control monitoring is robust and would sure have resulted in a fault that would have been displayed at the control. Are any fault codes being displayed? - John Nery Independent Technician Tiverton RI. Original Message: Sent: 10:46 From: Richard Heighington Subject: Wascomat TD30X30 dryer problem I have a Wascomat TD 30X30 dryer that will fluctuate in temperature. It is set to 160 at high temp but will get to 150 then drop to 118 then heat to 131 and so on.
I called Wascomat and they suggested it was a programming issue in area B but I couldn't seem to be able to adjust the parameters. Has anyone else seen this problem? - John Nery Independent Technician Tiverton RI. Good Morning! The symptom that you describe usually results from the temperature of the air entering the drum (from the heating system) becoming too hot. When lint accumulates in the airflow path, it slows the flow of air through the machine. This results in the inlet air temperature rising. When the air temperature reaches a certain value, the control system turns the burner off, to prevent scorching of the linen, and to prevent nuisance tripping of the high limit thermostat. A GREAT FEATURE!!!
Because the display is showing you the OUTLET air temperature from the dryer, the appearance is that the machine never reaches the programmed temperature (because the burner is being turned off on high inlet air temp). Clean lint from the airflow path, especially from atop the backdraft dampers. That should resolve your issue. Kind regards, Gary Brown- Gary Brown Manufacturer Employee Laundrylux Inwood NY. We have cleaned the vent pipe top to bottom and the air makeup screen on the roof. But the clothes do not properly dry in these dryers and the gas turn off is at about 130 degrees but the setting says it should go to 150.
We have 50 dryers but only 2 have a problem and they are in two different dryer boxes. If you dryers are 12 years old they are TD3030 not TD30X30.
The E08 and E06 errors can normally be fixed by cleaning out the filter screen on the right side of the dryer after you pull out the lint screen. You also need to check the back of the dryer, after you remove the cover to be sure you clean out the lint build up there too. Once you do this you can reset the dryer and you should be good to go. I have had these problems for 10 years and can clean them in my sleep now. James Radovic Owner Jupiter Laundry and Downtown Stuart Laundry Jupiter and Stuart, FL CLA Member since 2000. Original Message: Sent: 21:31 From: Chris Markeson Subject: Wascomat TD30X30 dryer problem We are experiencing the same issue and was told by our local repairman that it was due to the screen inside the lint draw getting clogged and needing to be cleaned due to residue from fabric softener sheets. This throws an E08 code.
I am in the process of investigating what can clean the screens after 12 years of use. Any suggestions? Chris Markeson- Chris Markeson New Owner Akron OH. I'm still having complaints that this dryer is still not heating properly even after I've cleaned the lint above the damper and anywhere else I can see. I've also swapped out the 90 degree thermostat that is located on the vertical panel in the back of the dryer. (there is another 195 degree thermostat located on a horizontal panel located on top but it's very difficult to remove the screws since there's only a few inches between it and the outer panel) Does anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem?
I guess I'll swap out the top thermostat tomorrow to eliminate that possibility. There are also two sensors that plug in next to the thermostats but I'm reluctant to replace them since they run all the way to the front of the machine and I'd have to undo all the strapping to get them out. If the thermostat swap doesn't work then I'll try changing the control board but I'll have to buy a new set of sockets since the 5.5 mm nuts are so small.- Richard Heighington Store owner Spotless Laundromats Prince George, B.C.
