If so, rather than unscrewing the 'breech plug', you might want to try the less invasive old time method. You might try a '.50 cal black powder bullet puller': Attach it to the end of a cleaning rod, and screw the end into the ball. The brass ring is non-marring in the steel bore. Once screwed in good, pull it out! Or, you might try a 'CO2 bullet discharger': Remove the nipple (if a percussion action), and shoot the blast of air through it, pushing out the bullet (have it pointed in a safe direction!) I did call CVA yesterday and was told that they no longer carried what the firm termed ' vintage ' black powder kit assembly. I have been searching ' e bay ' for any posting there as to someone having an assembly manual for sale. Seems to me that CVA would have an ' archive ' of this manual that they could copy in pdf. The kit seems to be intact as to parts and has the warranty / shooter instruction manual. Assembly manual though.
I am no novice to black powder rifles but want to get this one assembled correctly. Thank you for your prompt reply and assistance.
