First of all I’ll start off by saying that the other students here, Pet (administration), SIlvio the Brazilian jiu-jitsu professor and the cleaning lady were very polite, friendly and easy to get on with.

Hyster 150 forklift specs. This orange beastie is a 1985 model as close as I can tell (which I realize is an 'antique vehicle' at 25+ years on the road ).and it has a Continental Y112 flathead engine in it.runs like a champ! Don't say flathead automatically = old.
However, there is a reason why I’m leaving a 1-star review for this place, and that is due to the attitude of the Muay Thai trainers. During my first Friday morning training session (which after this I decided would be my last Muay Thai training session at Team Quest Thailand) whilst I was practicing strikes on the suspended punching bag as per instructed by the trainers, about four of these trainers were standing at a distance watching me practice my hooks, jabs, kicks. They were chuckling whilst watching me, and even though they were speaking in Thai it was obvious from their constant looking at me that me and striking abilities were the topic of their conversation. Some had even gone as far as exaggeratingly mimicking my novice striking abilities whilst having a chuckle with each other. Bear in mind that I was a complete beginner to Muay Thai not having done any training before my first session at Team Quest only 4 days earlier and all the instructors were aware of that. The worse of these trainers this particular Friday morning seemed to be the very dark-skinned guy with a leg tattoo, he often wore a neck pendant. At one point when he noticed me looking at the trainers mocking me he walked over to me and shouted “What you looking?
Don’t look at us. Look at bag.” He then walked away to join the other trainers in their laughing again. I looked at them again as they were laughing. That same trainer walked up to me again and shouted at me, almost in my face as though he was an army drill sergeant “I told you look at bag, no looking at us. Look at us again you do 10 push-up”. For the rest of that training session I just continued on with bag work trying to ignore the laughter from the trainers. Bottom line is if you're a total novice to Muay Thai and don't want to be subjected to ridicule by a bunch of insecure bullies then don't train here.
There are plenty of other facilities around Chiang Mai that could accommodate you. Only train here if you're experienced in Muay Thai or wish to train in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
Muay Thai kicking pads are an absolute necessity for someone who wishes to train in Muay Thai kickboxing. They will help boost kicking power, accuracy and speed. In any case, using Muay Thai feels more authentic than using standard boxing sandbag. In addition, it allows you to practice different types of kicks. While many gyms don’t require the patrons to bring their own kick pads, there is nothing wrong with purchasing your own gear. If you take a look at online retail stores, you will notice that there are thousands of Muay Thai kicking pads available for purchase.
So how do you differentiate between the good and bad ones? Better yet, how do you know which model best suits your needs? The main differences between a good pair of kicking pads and a bad pair are how long they last and how comfortable they are during use. Another important factor is the level of protection offered.
